In 2012, the largest Atlantic hurricane on record hit the Northeastern United States and its geothermal effects were felt throughout 23 other states including Illinois. After witnessing the harsh weather conditions in Chicago, I headed over to the lakefront to try and capture some action shots of the storm. The local news teams were huddled around North Avenue, but I knew the waves would be hitting the hardest near Fullerton Street. Once on the scene, I was in awe of the 40 foot waves crashing into the piers. I had never seen anything like it on Chicago's lakefront.
