Photo Description

The Rookery Building is the only surviving Burnham and Root commercial building built during the late 1800's. It was a very innovative building for its time due to the structural and architectural design. At the center of the almost square structure is a light court with magnificent iron-work in its ceiling, railings, and stairways. Marble, polished white granite, and glass contribute to the openness and accessibility of the entrance.
