Photo Description

Around the 1920's the Michigan Avenue Bridge was completed and highlighted the brand new Wrigley Building South Tower. The bridge was the first split-leaf double-deck trunnion bascule bridge ever built.

It was an engineering triumph and the realization of a long-term goal to separate delivery and service vehicles from automobile traffic.
